From Sagelands to Sea-side

For two years now I’ve been a member of the Sagelands Winery’s wine club in the beautiful lower Yakima Valley. As a perk to membership, I receive eight special reserve bottles of wine a year, and an invitation to events held on the winery’s beautiful grounds overlooking Mt. Adams seen in the photo below:

Yesterday, as we were on our way to Kurt’s game, we decided to stop off at the winery to pick up my last two shipments. While visiting with the friendly staff, I was informed that we had arrived on the wine pick-up day where wine club members could receive 30% off a purchase of any regular-priced vino.

We needed wine for the wedding… and decided there was no time like the present to make the purchase that would give a “Yakima” presence at the wedding. (Absolutely no connection to my Yakima upbringing) 😉

We settled on a case of Cabernet Savinion and two cases of Pinot Gris.

Be looking for a great cheese pairing featuring perhaps something from Joe’s beloved Pullman and their Cougar gold. More on that later.

Us… in the Sageland.
