A few days in June

A scheduling fluke gave me a few days of this week, so Ingrid and I went to Yakima and Spokane to visit some friends and play some golf. It was great to see everyone again. Can’t believe it has been almost six months since my last trip over. Thanks to everyone who made time to visit, drink and golf with us. Thanks especially to CA for the golf lessons!
Here are a few pics from our trip. Ingrid shot most of these with her Nikon D-300 and a 14m. Good times!
Ingrid has a final today and I’m back to work in the morning, so enjoy…
Oh, I almost forgot: We played at Apple Tree on Thursday, Indian Canyon Saturday, and Downriver on Sunday. Three great courses!

Great game at Safeco Field

We joined Sophia and Katie for a Mariners game the other night. A great time and a good game. It was our first game together…awwww. We are going to try and get back up there at least one more time this season. Sophia told us the Seattle art Museum is having an exhibit on impressionists. We are thinking of making a day-trip out of it with anyone else interested. Let us know and we’ll all go together.

I have to work at 7 a.m. so I’m going to bed. Later.

The best board ever

Ingrid and I are in the middle of the best scrabble game ever!!!
The points don’t matter (except to say she is winning) but look at the board, it rocks!

Panhandlers and work…a full day

I was working on a story today about an ordinance the county is looking at that would make panhandling illegal. I thought I knew how I felt bout the issue, but after you spend a few hours talking with some of them, I’m not so sure what should be done. It gets complicated quickly when real people are involved.

Speed Racer is cool…again!

Went for a drive..

Ingrid and I went for a ride today. I also had a new point-and-shoot camera and a tripod with me…who doesn’t?
And I thought I would have some fun. The images of the road from wheel-level are all shot upside down and then fixed in post.

My eye!

No, really, my eye. I was sitting near the water eating my lunch in Port Angeles the other day while on assignment and I started playing with my new point-and-shoot camera. I was trying to make a picture that showed my eye and the view. This was as close as I could get before I had to go to work.

We’re still alive

We’ve been busy. Between work, school, family commitments, and new routines - we have managed to NOT post much on this blog lately.

Today we spent some time up at Mount Rainier National Park where Joe is working on a video story about the re-opening of the Paradise lodge after undergoing a two-year renovation. We encountered rain, snow, sunshine, a two vehicle accident, and hail on our journey. Basically, it was a good day!

New video player

we are trying a new video player…

I’ll delete the other version of this video. Last night Jimmy came by and we burned this to a disc and watched it on television…that was cool. I’m so use to watching on the computer, that I had missed how good they look on the tube.

You can see the better quality version HERE

The Rainiers!

Here are some shots from the Tacoma Rainier’s home opener last Thursday at Cheney Stadium. I had fun covering baseball for the first time ever and was shooting the even for The Town Talk out of Louisiana. The starting pitcher for the opposing Sacramento team when to high school in Alexandria… therefore I spent most of the evening finding new angles of Mr. Greg Smith (the starter).

ps… oh, and Happy Birthday to this blog, which turned one this week.
